About LiveIn Helper

Where a Spare Room Becomes Companionship

LiveIn Helper began with a simple belief, that the company an older person needs and the home they already have can be the same place, shared with someone who genuinely cares.

Why We Started

My Mother Loved Her Home

My mother loved her home, every photograph on the wall, every routine, every quiet morning at her own kitchen table, that was the life she had built over decades, and then came dialysis, a broken hip, rehab, and eventually a nursing home, because the care she needed had grown beyond what we could safely give her at home in Minnesota, and she told me it felt like she had lost everything.

I visited almost every day, and what I saw in those hallways changed me, seniors who felt forgotten, some who told me in their own quiet way that they had been left there to wait, and whether their families intended it or not, that is how it felt to them.

That stayed with me, and it is why LiveIn Helper exists.

Home is where people feel safe, where their memories, routines, and dignity live, yet the way America cares for aging adults today is broken, assisted living drains a lifetime of savings, hourly home care is rarely sustainable, families burn out filling the gap, and at the same time students, workers, and young adults struggle to find affordable housing.

So we built a different model, a senior with a spare room and a vetted, trustworthy helper who needs a place to live, daily companionship, real human presence, and practical support, all in exchange for housing, it is not a service, it is a relationship.

Every LiveIn Helper arrangement is built on Checkr background screening, a formal legal agreement among the senior, the helper, and a designated trustee, and ongoing support after the match, safeguards designed for the trust modern families need, around a model that has worked for centuries when communities knew how to care for their own.

If you are looking into senior care for someone you love, we would be honored to walk this with you, because seniors who built their lives, raised their families, and shaped the world we live in today deserve more than loneliness, they deserve to stay home.

That is the mission, and we are just getting started.

What We Believe

Growing Older Should Feel Like Living Well, Right at Home

So much of senior care treats a person as a checklist, we start somewhere warmer, with presence, conversation, and the small daily moments that turn a house back into a home.

How It Works

Simple, and Safe from the First Step

A clear, guided path, and it starts with making sure every helper is someone you can trust.

1

Safety comes first

Before anyone ever meets, every helper clears a comprehensive Checkr background check and a full identity verification.

2

Create a profile

You set up a profile together with your parent, so their comfort and preferences always lead the way.

3

Share the daily needs

You outline the daily routines, the home, and the specific kind of help that matters most to them.

4

Meet on a video call

You and your parent meet the potential helper on a guided video call, and confirm the fit together.

5

Finalize with a trustee

You finalize with a clear legal agreement and a designated trustee, and daily support begins from there.

What We Stand For

The Values We Build Everything Around

01

Safety first

Every helper is verified and every match is accountable, because a home is no place to take chances.

02

Real companionship

The cure for isolation is presence, someone who shares the day rather than simply checking a box.

03

Dignity and independence

Seniors stay in charge of their own lives and their own homes, with support that comes to them and never over them.

04

A fair exchange

A spare room for daily support, real help that most families can actually afford.

Who It Is For

Built for Everyone in the Arrangement

Seniors

Age at home with daily company and a helping hand, on your own terms.

Families

Peace of mind that someone is always there, so you can be family again instead of a coordinator.

Helpers

A private room and a genuine role, supporting one household instead of racing between clients.

The Company They Deserve Is Closer Than You Think

a spare room, a caring companion, and a warmer everyday, all within reach
