Every Match Is Built on Verified Trust
Before anyone enters a home, or moves into one, they pass through a thorough background screening. Here's exactly what we check, and why it matters.
We run two distinct screening packages, one for Helpers, one for Hosts. Each is calibrated to the trust considerations specific to that role. No match is made until both parties have cleared their respective screening.
Every Helper completes our most comprehensive screening before they can be matched. Because a Helper is living inside someone's home, the check needs to be thorough, not just national databases, but county-level records and alias coverage that close the gaps.
Criminal and identity
Confirms identity and maps every county and state where the applicant has lived, which drives the county and state searches below.
Critical, many convictions are recorded only at the county courthouse and never appear in national databases.

Alias coverage
So a name change doesn't create a gap in the results.
Helpers are trusting that the home they move into is safe. Every Host completes a core screening through Checkr before they can be matched, so the relationship starts with verified trust on both sides.
